Faculty of Architecture

Tasarım Magazine organized a certified event on December 6-7, 2021 in order to exhibit Turkey's first innovative material library for the students of Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Architecture and to provide students with materials and company network.

In the event, a seminar series was held with the competition of Digalpa firm (epoxy-themed+award in all areas of life) and the drawing of the Tasarım Group team (5 architects, 10 students + 1 construction company and a camp).

Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall hosted the award ceremony and colloquium of the "MEKAN2021 National Graduation Projects for Interior Architecture Students", which was organized for the 8th time this year by the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 15.00.

At the ceremony where our Rector, our Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu and our Head of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta made the opening speeches, awards were presented to the winners.

Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, and the Technology Transfer Office team came together at the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Architecture on Thursday, December 9, 2021. At the meeting, which was attended by the Head of Department of Architecure Prof. Dr. Esin Kasapoğlu and Head of Department of Interior Arhitecture and Environmental Design Prof. Dr. Gülay Usta, university-industry cooperation and the projects planned to be realized were discussed.

The Chamber of Architects has been holding "Architecture and Education Conventions" in universities in various cities of Turkey every two years since 2001, in cooperation with academic institutions, in order to discuss the problems of architectural education and the professional environment in many ways and to produce solutions by taking into account the conditions of the country. Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, served as the Chairperson of the "XI.

Prof. Dr. Neslihan Dostoğlu, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture & Chairperson of the Deans Council of the Faculty of Architecture, participated in the "City and Life" program broadcast on Kültür TV on November 21, 2021 with the President of the Chamber of Architects Prof. Dr. Deniz İncedayı.

Awarded the title of "Honorary Doctorate" by Istanbul Kültür University on March 9, 2011; Architect, Restorer & Historian Professor Doğan Kuban, who passed away on September 22, 2021, was commemorated with a ceremony organized by IKU Faculty of Architecture. On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 15.00, the commemoration ceremony was held at Önder Öztunalı Conference Hall with the title of "Understanding Doğan Kuban"; Prof. Dr. Zeynep Ahunbay, Prof. Dr. Zafer Ertürk and Dr. Doğan Hasol attended. The moderator of the ceremony was Prof. Dr. Zeynep Kuban .

A "Skill Development Workshop" will be held by Istanbul Kültür University Faculty of Architecture between 28 June and 2 July 2021, open to the participation of first-year students only. Within the scope of the workshop, the topics of "Lecture Techniques and Computerized Expression Techniques", one of the first year courses, will be covered. Students who want to participate should apply to the e-mail address of mimarlik@iku.edu.tr until June 27, 2021.

Istanbul Kültür University Department of Architecture continues to bring together the world's famous architects with their students and the architectural environment in the 2020-2021 Spring Semester. The last speaker of the conference series held online was the famous Turkish architect Ferda Kolatan on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 20.00. Kolatan is the Founding Director of SU11 Architecture + Design Office and is also an associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman Faculty of Design.

With the collaboration of the IKU Department of Architecture and Çuhadaroğlu Inc, an e-seminar titled “Transition to Practise from Theory” is organized on April 30, 2021, Friday at 18.00. Starting with the history of the company, by Master Civil Engineer, Ali Tuna Şenatlı, Çuhadaroğlu Inc. Marketing Manager, the seminar continued with the subject of architecture in facade design and application by the presentation of Senior Sales Representative Master Architect Dilara Dağlı.

With the collaboration of the IKU Department of Architecture and Çuhadaroğlu Inc, an e-seminar titled “Transition to Practise from Theory” is organized on April 28, 2021, Wednesday at 15.00.
